I've seen many people not liking season 9 and to be honest I can understand why.

But in my opinion its not a bad way to end the series and here is why.

Season 9 wrapped up every lose end and found a good “ending“ for every character, while not giving you the feeling of cramping everything into the last episodes.

We saw how all the side characters were doing, we saw Marshall and Lillys relationship finally maturing and we saw Ted letting go of Robin.

And we saw Swarley finally settling down with someone he loved.

And of course the ending sucks because it destroyed most of the important character development I just mentioned but if we just act like the last two episodes just went down a little different than they actually did, then this is a ending worthy of such a great series.
